Litigation Director

WashIP’s Litigation Director reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for delivery of the highest-quality representation to those pursuing post-conviction actual innocence claims in Washington State’s trial, appellate, and Federal Courts.  This position manages the organization’s litigation practice; supervises staff and pro bono attorneys as they evaluate applications for assistance and provide direct representation to clients; and supports the Executive Director’s community engagement, policy reform, and fundraising initiatives.

WashIP’s Paralegal reports to the Litigation Coordinator and supports WashIP staff attorneys as they litigate post-conviction claims of actual innocence on behalf of our clients. As such, the Paralegal plays a crucial role in managing WashIP’s cases, including responsibility for documenting incoming and outgoing mail, updating our case management database system, obtaining case-related records, and organizing files. The Paralegal also works closely with the Litigation Coordinator on intake of new cases by analyzing case documents and evaluating new applications for assistance.

Programs & Operations Assistant

WashIP’s Programs & Operations Assistant is a full-time, multi-faceted support position that reports directly to the Executive & Policy Director. This position moves the organization’s mission forward by handling a wide range of organizational and administrative tasks to support WashIP’s legal program, client support program, policy efforts, and non-profit operations. Opportunity for promotion into a position with greater responsibility and compensation may be available following one year of exemplary performance in this role.
